Softball Recap: Calera's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Calera can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bibb County Choctaws by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Alexi Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Mia Wade, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Calera lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Calera's victory bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Bibb County, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-19.

Looking ahead, Calera will host Marbury at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Bibb County, they are taking a road trip to square off against Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
