Los Angeles Top 25 high school football scores: Showdown set for No. 1 Mater Dei-No. 2 St. John Bosco

St. John Bosco among the national Top 25 according to MaxPreps.

The top two teams in the region, the state and the nation stayed right on course Friday night. And now, another monumental meeting of the No. 1 and 2 teams in the country are set.

Top-ranked Mater Dei (Santa Ana) had no trouble with Santa Margarita, winning 45-0, while No. 2 St. John Bosco (Bellflower) thumped Orange Lutheran 63-6 to set up the Oct. 25 meeting high school fans have been waiting for. The teams will enter next week 8-0.

Bosco's No. 1 rated quarterback in the nation DJ Uiagalelei completed touchdown passes to Beaux Collins (51 yards), Logan Loya (81) and Kris Hutson (62) en route to a 42-0 halftime lead. Tayvion Beasley added a 20-yard pick six to lead the Bosco defense.

Mater Dei's defense gave up just 14 yards rushing and 185 total yards en route to its shutout win.



In other big games feature Los Angeles-area Top 25 teams, Nicholas Floyd rushed for five touchdowns, none more than 10 yards, as third-ranked Centennial (Corona) defeated No. 15 Norco 61-23, and No. 7 and host Servite (Anaheim), coming off a humbling loss to Mater Dei, scored 28 first-half points en route to a 34-21 victory over No. 4 JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano).
