League recap: Long County stuns Bryan County in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Long County, who took down 297th ranked Bryan County, 20-13. Josh Berry ran for 121 yards in the win.

Vidalia extended the longest winning streak in AA Region 2 this week by beating Metter, 28-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Indians.

The Blue Tide's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Luke Golden helped Long County's passing attack out by catching two balls for six yards.

Deonte Ellis was the best wideout in the league this week as Long County beat the Redskins. Ellis tallied three receptions for 43 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Jacob Turner and Berry Ron Flott's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Turner leads the league in passing with 311 yards, while Berry has rushed for 492 yards this season. Jeff Davis's Quay Black leads the league in receiving yards with 144 on 11 catches.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Toombs County takes on McIntosh County Academy. The Bulldogs are in second place, while the Buccaneers are in fourth place.

The Blue Tide moved up to 282 from 319 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 2. Long County climbed the ranks as a result of a 20-13 win over Bryan County.
