Recap: Rawlins Outlaws vs. Riverton Wolverines
The Rawlins Outlaws pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Riverton 68-64. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rawlins in their matchups with Riverton: they've now lost three in a row.
Jose Morales and Jaxson Allard certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Morales scored 27 points along with 8 rebounds, while Allard dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Christopher Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Among those leading the charge was Parker Paxton, who scored 25 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Riverton's points. Another player making a difference was Dre'vin Monroe, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Rawlins' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Riverton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Rawlins will be playing in front of their home fans against Sheridan at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Riverton, they will face off against Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
