New Haven proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 49) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lake Shore Shorians 51-49. This was a revenge game for the Rockets: when they faced off against the Shorians back in January, they had to take a 67-59 loss.

When it comes to explaining why Lake Shore lost, don't look at Jason Pruitt Ii. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Steven Likins, who had ten points.

The victory got New Haven back to even at 10-10. As for Lake Shore, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

New Haven has already played their next matchup, a 63-59 win against Walled Lake Western on the 17th. As for Lake Shore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-68 victory against University Liggett on the 19th.
