Ocean City hasn't had much luck against Vineland recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Fighting Clan at 4:00 p.m. Ocean City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Ocean City is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against St. Joseph on Monday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-1.

Ocean City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Catto, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Vineland came tearing into Monday's game with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Thunderbolts 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Fighting Clan have posted against the Thunderbolts since May 29, 2018.

Vineland pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ocean City, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Ocean City couldn't quite get it done against Vineland in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 7-2. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
