Baseball Recap: Madison's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Madison suffered their closest loss since May 21, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Clinton Redwolves by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Redwolves this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-1 loss on Tuesday.

Madison got a good showing from Kason Snyder, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, Snyder didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

At the plate, Brian Dopp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.

Madison's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4. As for Clinton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

Madison and Clinton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 66th) will meet Adrian (ranked 263rd) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Clinton will face off against Bronson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (103 vs. 335).
