Basketball Recap: Academe of the Oaks Falls to Cross Keys in First Game of Season

Academe of the Oaks kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 55-33 to the Cross Keys Phoenix.

When it comes to explaining why Academe of the Oaks lost, don't look at Elijah Campos. Despite the final result, he shot 45% from the field to rack up 10 points in addition to five rebounds and five blocks.

Cross Keys has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Academe of the Oaks will face off against The New School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cross Keys, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Atlanta Jewish Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
