Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Bridgeland came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won six games by three goals or more so far this season.

Bridgeland pushed their record up to 7-3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Cypress Ranch, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.
