Baseball Recap: Oxford Comes Up Short

Oxford suffered their closest defeat since April 8th on Monday. They fell just short of the Tantasqua Regional Warriors by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 6-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Oxford has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Tantasqua Regional, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Looking ahead, Oxford will take on Hopedale at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Tantasqua Regional, they will host Auburn at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
