Softball Recap: Centereach Takes a Loss

Centereach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bellport Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

Centereach's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Bellport, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Looking ahead, Centereach will square off against Newfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars are facing the Wolverines at the right time seeing as the Wolverines are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bellport, they will take on Ward Melville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
