Softball Recap: Williamsville South Gets the Win

Williamsville South won the last time they faced Frontier and things went their way on Saturday too. The Billies won by a run and slipped past the Falcons 5-4.

Cate Cronin was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noelle Jurkowski, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Williamsville South hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive games.

Williamsville South is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Frontier, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Williamsville South nor Frontier have any future games scheduled.
