Providence has gone a perfect 9-0 against Butler recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Providence is headed into Thursday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They lost 4-0 to Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Providence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Charlotte Catholic are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Butler kept a clean sheet against Garinger on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The result was nothing new for Butler, who have now won nine matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Garinger with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jillian Phoebus, Savannah Kondas, and Olivia Kondas.

Butler has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those eight games. As for Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.

Everything went Providence's way against Butler in their previous matchup back in April, as Providence made off with a 6-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
