Softball Game Preview: Largo Packers vs. Indian Rocks Christian Eagles

The Largo Packers will square off against the Indian Rocks Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Largo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Largo is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Clearwater just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tornadoes, falling 14-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Packers have suffered since March 4th.

Largo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laila Weber, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base. Weber is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Meanwhile, Indian Rocks Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boca Ciega.

Ellie Harris led a balanced group of hitters, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Sophia Bello was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5.

Largo's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Everything went Largo's way against Indian Rocks Christian when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Largo made off with a 14-1 win. Will the Packers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
