Hampden waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Mount Desert Island Trojans. That's more bragging rights for the Broncos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jacob Kelley tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Hampden's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Cote, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Hampden's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Mount Desert Island, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Hampden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Camden Hills on the 12th. As for Mount Desert Island, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Hermon on the 13th.
