Basketball Recap: South Bronx Drops Highest Score of Season Against Morrisania

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Bronx). They managed a 45-39 win over the Morrisania Lions on Saturday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 36-26 back in December of 2024.

The victory was the fourth in a row for South Bronx, bringing their record for this year to 5-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Morrisania, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

South Bronx will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mott Haven at 4:30 p.m. on January 28th. Both have allowed few points on average, (Mott Haven: 23.8, South Bronx: 29.2) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Morrisania, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-43 loss against Archimedes on the 14th.
