            The East Bakersfield Blades will be taking part in a tournament against the Chavez Titans  at 3:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. East Bakersfield will be strutting in after a  win while Chavez will be coming in after a  defeat.
East Bakersfield's tournament run continued when they took on Mira Monte  on Monday. Everything went East Bakersfield's way against Mira Monte as East Bakersfield made off with  a  13-4 victory. The  win continues a trend for the Blades in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.
 ONER LEYVA was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. LEYVA was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  SEBASTIAN MENDOZA was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was  RANDY LENOIR, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, Chavez came up short against  Independence on Saturday, falling  11-1.
 Chavez saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jayden Popoy, who  went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  RBI. That  RBI marked the first that  Popoy  brought in this season.
 Chavez's loss  ended  an  eight-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for East Bakersfield, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
 East Bakersfield suffered a grim  8-1 defeat to Chavez  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2024. Can East Bakersfield avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
