Seth Hoyle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mason Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Decatur won against Lake Worth on Tuesday with 14 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Decatur blew past Lake Worth 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Decatur also got a great performance from Blaze Grider as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Furthermore, Grider didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jed Ross was incredible, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. James Mahoney was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Decatur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Decatur pushed their record up to 10-13-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.33 hits in those games compared to only 5.43 in the others. As for Burkburnett, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
