Basketball Recap: Reece Remus Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win

There's no place like home for Lakeside, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs by a score of 62-53 on Friday. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 59-27 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Lakeside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reece Remus led the charge by dropping a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Remus a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Kaden McCoy, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 14 points.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 12-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Sylvan-Lucas, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Lakeside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-44 loss against Logan/Palco on the 20th. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-26 win against Osborne on the 18th.
