While Escondido didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Liberty Charter Lions, posting a 69-26 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Escondido's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maddox Mendoza led the charge by putting up 17 points. Danny Valadez was another key player, posting 15 points.

Escondido's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Liberty Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Escondido will head out to face off against Chula Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chula Vista will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Escondido surely won't give up without a fight. As for Liberty Charter, they will take on Southern California Yeshiva on January 9, 2025.
