Softball Game Preview: West Philadelphia Speedboys vs. Roxborough Wolves

The West Philadelphia Speedboys will face off against the Roxborough Wolves at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. West Philadelphia has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

West Philadelphia came up short against Overbrook on Monday, falling 15-4. The Speedboys have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Roxborough, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against Martin Luther King on Thursday as they made off with a 15-5 win. Considering the Wolves have won three games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Philadelphia's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 1-2-1. As for Roxborough, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

West Philadelphia took their win against Roxborough when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will the Speedboys repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
