Basketball Recap: Bell Creek Academy's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bell Creek Academy came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans by a score of 66-53. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 50.5 points per game.

Bell Creek Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaslyn Easley out in front who went 8 of 13 en route to 20 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Easley a new career-high in steals. Kendal Curtis was another key player, going 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points along with five boards and five steals.

Bell Creek Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cali Midyett, who went 5 of 8 en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks, and Jelissa Anderson, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points along with seven boards and five assists. Anderson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mila Miller, who posted ten points and four steals.

Bell Creek Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8.
