Softball Recap: Burlington Wildcats vs. Jefferson West Tigers
It's playoff time, and Burlington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Jefferson West Tigers with a sharp 9-0 win on Thursday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
Grace Birk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Camden Swank was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Thomsen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Burlington's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Jefferson West, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
As of now, neither Burlington nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
