Basketball Recap: Galva Drops Highest Score of Season Against ROWVA/Williamsfield

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galva). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars 86-54. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 21 points or more this season.

Galva found their leader in sophomore MJ Louck, who shot 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Louck has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Stahl, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 22 points and seven boards.

Galva was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Galva and bumps their season record up to 18-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 39.2% in those games and 26.4% outside of them. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Galva wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-34 loss against Bureau Valley on the 4th. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they have also already played their next game, a 56-28 defeat against Illini Bluffs on the 3rd.
