Soccer Game Preview: Arroyo Valley vs. Pacific

The Arroyo Valley Hawks and the Pacific Pirates will compete for holiday cheer at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Arroyo Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Redlands on Tuesday as Arroyo Valley made off with a 7-2 victory. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pacific kept a clean sheet against Entrepreneur on Tuesday. They blew past the Panthers 14-0. That looming 14-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.

Pacific's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Arroyo Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season.

Arroyo Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Pacific in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, winning 2-0. Will Arroyo Valley repeat their success, or does Pacific have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
