While Branson didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers with a sharp 71-45 victory on Thursday. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 20 points or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Branson and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Mt. Vernon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.

Branson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-64 defeat against Hillcrest on the 30th. Mt. Vernon has also already played their next game, a 65-30 victory against Skyline on the 27th.
