Basketball Game Preview: Dakota Valley Panthers vs. Sioux Falls Christian Chargers

Having just played yesterday, the Dakota Valley Panthers will jump right back in to play the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Dakota Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with an 84-77 victory over Beresford. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Watchdogs are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sioux Falls Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Mustangs to the tune of 85-52. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Sioux Falls Christian's win bumped their record up to 19-1. As for Dakota Valley, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-7.

Dakota Valley suffered a grim 88-66 defeat to Sioux Falls Christian when the teams last played back in January. Can Dakota Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
