Football Recap: Weston Ranch Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Weston Ranch extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were beaten by the Bear Creek Bruins 49-12. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Weston Ranch's loss came despite strong showings from Dereon Moore Jr. and Jonathan Newsome. Moore Jr. rushed for 83 yards and one score on only nine carries, while Newsome rushed for 73 yards on only ten carries.

Bear Creek's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bear Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Chan, who threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave Chan a new career-high. Jeremiah Robertson helped Chan out on the ground, picking up 65 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 38 yards and one score.

Looking ahead, Weston Ranch is taking a road trip to square off against Stagg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Delta Kings will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bear Creek, they will welcome Tokay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
