Baseball Game Preview: Clinton-Massie Falcons vs. Miami Trace Panthers

The Clinton-Massie Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Miami Trace Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Wednesday, Clinton-Massie didn't have quite enough to beat Batavia and fell 4-3. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Miami Trace entered their tilt with Logan Elm on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Braves a 4-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by exactly four runs.

Not much got past Cam Morton, who gave up just a hit and racked up 12 Ks to keep Logan Elm off the board. Morton has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gage Bowers, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin T Brown, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Miami Trace's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Clinton-Massie, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Everything went Clinton-Massie's way against Miami Trace in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Clinton-Massie made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
