Baseball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Golden Aces vs. Princeton Tigers

The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces will venture away from home to square off against the Princeton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Carmel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Mt. Carmel fell victim to Newton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-0. The match marked the first time this year in which the Golden Aces were not able to get on the board.

Mt. Carmel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Sloss, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Princeton unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Southridge by a score of 1-0.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Mt. Carmel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mt. Carmel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Princeton struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Mt. Carmel was able to grind out a solid victory over Princeton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 10-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Aces since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
