            Baseball Recap: Corvallis Spartans vs. Silverton Foxes        
        
		
        
        
            
 Corvallis lost a close one when they played  last Monday but unfortunately for them the  loss they were handed  on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They lost  14-4 to the Silverton Foxes. Corvallis has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Ben Weiss made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.  Roy Bannister was another key contributor,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Corvallis' defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-10. As for Silverton, their win bumped their record up to 7-12-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corvallis will take on West Albany at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. West Albany is coming into the  contest with 15 straight  victories on the road,  so Corvallis will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum. As for Silverton, they will be playing at home against Crescent Valley at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Crescent Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so Silverton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
