Softball Recap: Central Wise Takes Down Chatham in a Playoff Battle

Central Wise extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Chatham. They blew past the Cavaliers 11-1. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won four contests in a row.

Kaelyn Dales was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maci Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophie Carter, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Central Wise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chatham only posted a batting average of .167.

Central Wise's win bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Chatham, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.

As of now, neither Central Wise nor the Cavaliers have any future games scheduled.
