Basketball Recap: Costa Mesa Triumphs

Costa Mesa hadn't done well against Godinez Fundamental recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Costa Mesa Mustangs managed a 63-59 victory over the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 51-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Costa Mesa's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Godinez Fundamental, their loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Costa Mesa will venture away from home to square off against Calvary Chapel at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Godinez Fundamental, they are taking a road trip to face off against Fullerton at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
