It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Metlakatla had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wrangell Wolves with a sharp 46-23 win. The Chiefs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Metlakatla to victory were Lexi Cook and Saahdia Buffalo. Cook posted 12 points, while Buffalo scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Hayward, who put up seven points.

Metlakatla has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.1 points on average over those games. Wrangell now has a losing record of 11-12.

Metlakatla and Wrangell are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Metlakatla won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Haines at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Haines has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Wrangell, they and Craig will face off at 11:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played.
