Baseball Recap: Brown County Comes Up Short

Brown County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waldron Mohawks. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Mohawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Jade Woolems made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kody Shugars, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Brown County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Waldron, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Brown County has already played their next match, a 17-0 loss against North Putnam on the 15th. As for Waldron, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 21-2 victory against Crothersville on the 15th.
