Basketball Recap: Barbourville Comes Up Short

Barbourville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 55-39 to Mount Pisgah Christian Academy. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 54-48 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kaylynn Walls continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 13 rebounds. The matchup was Walls' eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jesalyn Howard, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Barbourville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16-1. As for Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tigers take on the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Rhea County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
