Basketball Game Preview: Randolph Rockets vs. Hayfield Vikings

Randolph is 2-8 against Hayfield since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Randolph Rockets will be playing at home against the Hayfield Vikings at 5:45 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Randolph took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 67-61 victory over United South Central.

Hayfield fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Medford 78-30 on Friday. That looming 78-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Vikings yet this season.

Hayfield is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Randolph, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Randolph against Hayfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 78-43 win. Does Randolph have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hayfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
