Basketball Recap: Grand View Christian Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clear Lake, Grand View Christian was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Saydel Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 63-45. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Eagles are ranked 202nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Grand View Christian's victory bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Saydel, they moved to 8-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Grand View Christian has already played their next contest (against Nevada), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Saydel will take on Greene County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Saydel is facing Greene County at the right time seeing as Greene County is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
