Volleyball Recap: Miller School of Albemarle Falls Despite Big Games from Brooklyn Wells and Alanna Lewis

Miller School of Albemarle managed to slip by Roanoke Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mavericks came up short against the Celtics on Monday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mavericks have suffered against the Celtics since October 8, 2019.

While Miller School of Albemarle was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Roanoke Catholic's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-19.

Miller School of Albemarle's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Alanna Lewis, who had eight digs and three aces, and Brooklyn Wells, who had 13 assists and four digs. Wells has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Miller School of Albemarle has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Roanoke Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-16.
