Basketball Game Preview: Sunbright Tigers vs. Jellico Blue Devils

Sunbright is 2-8 against Jellico since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sunbright Tigers will welcome the Jellico Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. Sunbright is coming into the game hot, having won their last nine games.

Last Friday, Sunbright strolled past Coalfield with points to spare, taking the game 57-42.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jellico). They blew past Wartburg Central 96-67 on Friday. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 25 points or more this season.

Jellico's win came from a few key players Sunbright will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dre Webb, who went 9 for 13 en route to 25 points and four steals. What's more, he also posted a 63% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gavin Dabney, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards.

Jellico pushed their record up to 12-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.6 points over those games. As for Sunbright, their win bumped their record up to 20-6.
