Softball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Chaminade's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Chaminade hadn't done well against Hart recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Chaminade came out on top against Hart by a score of 6-1. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 13-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Neema Kahira spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sydney Hogue, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. She is also on a roll when it comes to doubles, as she's now hit two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Casey Glantz, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Chaminade is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. Hart has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaminade will face off against Harvard-Westlake at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hart, they will venture away from home to challenge West Ranch at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hart is facing West Ranch at the right time seeing as West Ranch is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
