Baseball Game Preview: Woodford County Yellowjackets vs. Spencer County Bears

For the second straight game, Woodford County will face off against Spencer County. The Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bears at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodford County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four matches, but Wednesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Woodford County's offense. They fell just short of Spencer County by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Yellowjackets were not able to get on the board.

Woodford County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Asher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Spencer County is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Woodford County, their loss dropped their record down to 18-10.
