Softball Game Preview: San Dimas Saints vs. Alta Loma Braves

The San Dimas Saints will head out to challenge the Alta Loma Braves at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Dimas will be strutting in after a win while Alta Loma will be coming in after a loss.

San Dimas was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Colony on Friday. The Saints put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 17-5 victory. Considering the Saints have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Isabella Martinez looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Tiffany Villegas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Audrey Schlim was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

San Dimas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Alta Loma didn't have quite enough to beat Los Altos on Friday and fell 8-6.

Isabella Galindo was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lexi Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

With the win, San Dimas broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-9-1. As for Alta Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. San Dimas hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Alta Loma struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs.
