Baseball Recap: Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Starts Season with Win on the Road

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Benton Harbor Tigers a 23-0 shutout on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Tommy Cullen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Cullen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradyn Harper, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, four runs, and one triple. Evan Watts was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

Our Lady of the Lake Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Benton Harbor: the pair will be back at it again later today.
