Basketball Recap: Hampton Hawks vs. Nebraska Lutheran Knights
Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nebraska Lutheran Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-44 last Tuesday.
When it comes to explaining why Hampton lost, don't look at Porter Dose. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 10 on his way to 15 points. What's more, Dose also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Dose, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.
Even though they lost, Hampton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nebraska Lutheran only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

Worster is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hoehler, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.
Hampton's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.
