McNairy Central got a big performance out of Peyton Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Essary, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
On Booneville's side, Sawyer Richey was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (he also only allowed one walk). Richey has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Richey was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Booneville got a massive performance out of Bryson Saylors, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Saylors is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tre Miller, who scored four runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
McNairy Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Booneville, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
McNairy Central will take on Adamsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Adamsville's pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so McNairy Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Booneville, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Kossuth at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kossuth will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Booneville surely won't give up without a fight.
