Basketball Recap: Allegheny-Clarion Valley Takes a Loss

Allegheny-Clarion Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 49-32 fall against the Union Knights/Damsels. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-37 on January 8th.

Union got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trent Fleming out in front who posted 17 points and five steals. That's the most steals Fleming has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Christian Salizzonni, who put up ten points and four steals.

Allegheny-Clarion Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Union, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Allegheny-Clarion Valley will face off against Karns City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Union, they will square off against Cranberry Area at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Cranberry Area's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
