Basketball Recap: Aiden Sipes Key Part of a Team Effort in Warriors Win

Community Christian lost to Grace Christian Academy two weeks ago, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Community Christian Warriors came out on top against the Grace Christian Academy Colts by a score of 53-43.

Community Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Sipes, who went 9 of 15 en route to 21 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Sipes has scored at least a third of Community Christian's points. River Bryan was another key player, going 5 for 10 to rack up 14 points.

Despite the loss, Grace Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Brycen Adams went 7 of 13 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Nash Reading, who went 5 for 11 en route to 10 points.

The victory got Community Christian back to even at 6-6. As for Grace Christian Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, Community Christian and Cristo Rey Fort Worth will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Community Christian is facing Cristo Rey Fort Worth at the right time seeing as Cristo Rey Fort Worth is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
