Baseball Recap: Moreno Valley's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Moreno Valley managed to slip by Redlands East Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Wildcats on Friday, falling 14-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this game were averaging 3.82 runs allowed.

Moreno Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JJ Vazquez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Vazquez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Moreno Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Redlands East Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8.

Moreno Valley has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against La Quinta on the 12th. As for Redlands East Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Cajon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.4, the Cowboys 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
