Basketball Recap: Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Comes Up Short

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop lost against Cedar Mountain back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds were outmatched by the Cedar Mountain Cougars and fell 79-48.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for Cedar Mountain, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will face off against Lester Prairie at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Mountain, they will square off against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart likes a good challenge.
